Foolad Kavir Steel Factory - Industrial Photography in Iran
This project documents the industrial environment of Foolad Kavir, a steel manufacturing facility located in Aran va Bidgol, near Kashan, Iran, deep in one of the country's desert regions. Producing steel on this scale in such an environment presents its own set of engineering challenges, from sourcing industrial water to running heavy machinery around the clock, and this shoot was created to capture the scale and intensity of that operation.
Industrial photography demands a different skill set from commercial or food photography: working around active machinery, molten metal, high heat, and constantly moving equipment, all while maintaining strict safety protocols. The goal for this project was to capture the raw power and precision of steel production, glowing metal, heavy machinery in motion, and the sheer scale of the facility, in a way that communicates both the technical complexity and the human effort behind heavy industry.
This body of work reflects an important, if less visible, part of Feriphoto's background: years of experience working in demanding, technical shooting environments before transitioning to commercial and hospitality photography in Canada. That foundation in industrial and technical photography continues to inform a disciplined, detail-oriented approach across every type of project, from restaurant interiors to architectural virtual tours.
